We came up with the idea of the Ahrgalerie Ahrweiler holiday home, where you can experience art, after the artist Peter K. Gabrian lived and created in this house for many years, with whom we maintained a friendly relationship. Today we are proud of our lovingly renovated holiday home full of unique art experiences.

About us & our Ahrgalerie
With our Ahrgalerie, we would particularly like to draw positive attention to the still existing and (rebuilt) beautiful sites after the flood disaster, for which an informative, small museum exhibition has been created in the entrance area in collaboration with the regional photographer Christian Lipowski. Our building was also flooded up to the ceiling of the ground floor, but now shines in new splendour thanks to many helping hands.

Hiking
Scenic and varied
The Ahr Valley is one of the most popular hiking regions in Germany. Even after the floods, hikers can enjoy a unique natural landscape with rolling hills, wild rocky outcrops and almost Mediterranean vineyards. Between vineyards and rocky gorges, between wide meadow plateaus and quiet forest paths, you can enjoy a wide view over the valley. Numerous hiking trails are available for you to get to know the Ahr Valley.
Cycling
Ahr cycle path is under reconstruction.
Cycling is one of the most popular leisure activities in the Ahr Valley. However, the flood in July 2021 destroyed large sections of the popular Ahr cycle path, which was a paradise for leisure cyclists.
The cycle path is currently passable again on the section between Blankenheim and Altenahr and between Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler and Sinzig with detours. Reconstruction is underway, but it will still take some time to prepare a new Ahr cycle path.
More information about the Ahr cycle path
But the Ahr Valley still offers you opportunities for sporty cycling: If you are travelling by e-bike, you can climb the vineyards or explore the wide meadow plateaus of the Ahr heights.
An alternative to the Ahr cycle path is offered by the discovery tours"In the footsteps of the railway"„, „, "In the footsteps of the Ahr and Eifel"and"In the footsteps of the Kalkeifel".Here you can explore the varied landscape of the upper Ahr valley and the Eifel.
In the lower Ahr valley, the circular tour from Bad Neuenahr or Sinzig past the mouth of the Ahr and then along the Rhine cycle path to Bad Hönningen and back is also worthwhile. Another relaxed cycle tour takes you along the Ahr and the Rhine to Bonn.
